Week 5 - Post Production Planning
This is another seminar on the post production process that I found helpful in knowing what is important in my role to focus on. We were told to know your footage inside and out to know off the top of your head where you would want footage to go, this is definitely a beneficial thing to be able to do as I have done this in previous projects and it helps to be efficient with the edit.
The importance of making multiple drafts was also discussed so you can constantly fine tune your film to make it the best it can be. This then allows you to narrow down your story to make it the best it can be, focusing on interesting the audience from the beginning to the end. As mentioned before, it is integral to create a rollercoaster that allows for the highs to feel even higher and the lows to feel lower. If a rollercoaster stayed in the same motion the whole duration it wouldn't be as enjoyable, this is the exact same when it comes to editing a documentary/film. Being aware of this will help when we come to editing the first sequence.
