How our documentary follows the 6 main questions - Kevin B Lee:

What?

We are looking to explore the themes surrounding the massive platform that is Onlyfans and what it is like for a creator on this platform. From both the perspective of being an Onlyfans creator for a while and on the other side showing what it's like starting up as a creator on the platform. 

Who? is the story about, yourself others? Screen interactions showing the relationship between people.

This documentary will focus predominantly on Josee and Laurence's journey using the platform, but also show existing creators views of what it's like.   

Where?

We will be browsing on as many platforms as possible, due to the fact Onlyfans creators use a wide range of platforms to promote themselves. We will be on youtube 'watching the vlog footage of Josee and Laurence', we will be on Twitter finding people on the feed, Instagram watching the insta stories etc. We wanted to use a variety of platforms that encaptivate the online world and the world of Onlyfans.

When?

We are hoping to replicate the feeling of this happening live and in the moment. This is achieved as we have continuous editing, following the mouse as it browses the different sites, scrolls through the feeds etc. We are hoping for it to seem like the audience are learning as we are discovering more too. 

How?

The story of our documentary will work due to the fact we will be following our too pps on their journey of starting an account. When we are introduced to the pre existing creators it will be in 'natural' way of finding them online, then 'calling' them on zoom. This is all continuous and seamless, to hopefully replicate a live browsing experience.

Why?

We want to show what this site is that has taken over the world in recent years. The aim of the doc is to show people who are unaware of what the site is, what it is all about. Also, the other audience we are targeting are people potentially thinking of starting an Onlyfans and showing them what it was like for our pps starting their accounts.

Week 7 - Subtitling

 In this seminar we looked at how to set up subtitles on premiere pro for our projects. I won't go into the out and outs of how to achieve this, but I want to discuss how necessary this is for our project and not just our project but possibly in future work. In our project specifically we will definitely need to look at adding some subtitles in for the interview when the neoncouple speak, not just because it was over zoom, but because they wore masks to hide their identity and this skewed some of their speech so some parts are hard to hear. This is easily fixed through simple subtitles at the bottom of the screen for the sections we use of their answers.  On top of this, growing this skill allows for possible work in the future. It was discussed in the seminar that there is a lot of work out there for good subtitling work, especially nowadays with shows on streaming services. Week 5 - Post Production Planning

 This is another seminar on the post production process that I found helpful in knowing what is important in my role to focus on. We were told to know your footage inside and out to know off the top of your head where you would want footage to go, this is definitely a beneficial thing to be able to do as I have done this in previous projects and it helps to be efficient with the edit.  The importance of making multiple drafts was also discussed so you can constantly fine tune your film to make it the best it can be. This then allows you to narrow down your story to make it the best it can be, focusing on interesting the audience from the beginning to the end. As mentioned before, it is integral to create a rollercoaster that allows for the highs to feel even higher and the lows to feel lower. Documentary Title:

 This is a short post just to update on a possible title for our documentary that my group have discussed and put forward. I think this is the best title for our documentary that Josee suggested:  Onlyfans: The Online Sexhibit  I believe this is a great title and it really highlights the voyeuristic aspects of not just Onlyfans but also our desktop documentary. This is achieved through the joining of the words exhibit (things you look at) and sex (what Onlyfans shows); this title may change as time goes on, but I believe this is a great name put forward by Josee that should be the title.
